	Explanation	Reported only once from Germany. User had several NDAS units.
	Symptom	Mounting failed, though there was a white square. Device worked previously.
	Problem	Hard disk was bad, even though only 4 weeks old.
	Correction	Replace Hard Disk.

	Explanation
	Symptom	Attempting to access the device by NDAS Device Management or by drive letter produces the error.
	Problem	This is a very generic message. I only means the NDAS device is not communicating properly.
	Correction	Trey connecting the NDAS device by USB wire to see if the internal hard disk is functioning. Then try connecting the Ethernet cable directly to a PC and attempt to connect by NDAS. More than likely, the hard disk or NDAS device case has failed.

	Message	Communication to the NDAS service failed.
	Explanation	NDAS Service is the core component that watches over the NDAS devices. It can fail if LPX Protocol is not installed or if the start up setting is incorrect. There may be other reasons as well.
	Symptom	Attemping operations on the NDAS Device Management Menu will fail producing the error.
	Problem	NDAS Serivce has not started for some reason.
	Correction	Manual start up: From XP: click the start button, choose Run, then type services.msc in the box and click OK. Vista or Win7: Click the start button, then type services.msc in the search box and hit enter. Now find the NDAS Service and see that the status is Started and that Startup type is Automatic You can right click and choose properties to change any of these settings. Even if it is started, please try to stop and restart this service, if you are having communication problems.

	Explanation	There is a conflict between NDAS Software Versions 3.4.x and NDAS Hardware version 1.0 or lower. This is especially prevalent when running from a Vista Computer and operating a multi-disk configuration. But it may affect other operating systems and single disk set ups a well. Please download and install driver version 3.2 on all the machines that connect to the NDAS device. Or upgrade the device.

Devices manufacture from January 2005 do not have such disk size limitations.

	Problem	The NDAS ID can be calculated to include a vendor ID. The PnP wizard will not detect it.
